At 2 Fish, we're all about local businesses and organizations. We cater almost exclusively to the needs of independent businesses, helping them grow and succeed in a marketplace increasingly dominated by national chains and franchises. Though big businesses play an integral part in our economy, it is our belief that independent businesses are the heart and soul of our nation and our local economies, so we want to help...
OUR NAME
Since 2 Fish's inception, Matt and Dusty have always wanted to be purposeful about how and why business is done certain ways. Very few things can capture a company's culture and vision like a name, so this was a huge decision.
So why "2 Fish"?
There is a historical account in the Bible in Mark 6 about Jesus feeding 5000 people with five loaves of bread and two fish offered by a boy sharing what little he had to offer. This story perfectly reflects what we hope for 2 Fish and our clients. The idea? Regardless of how little we have to offer, great things can be done with a little help.
OUR LEADERSHIP
Dusty Burchnall
Managing Partner / Director of Design
Instead of sitting behind his computer pushing pixels around the screen, Dusty would rather be restoring his '71 Chevy Blazer, raising his kids on a farm somewhere in the country, or riding his mountain bike through the woods. But he loves 2 Fish, as well as good design, and he's currently on a mission to ensure each and every one of 2 Fish's clients achieves greatness through good design.
Dusty's a graduate of Kutztown University's Communication Design program in 2003 with a concentration in graphic and advertising design. Through high school and college he owned a successful automotive detailing business which he ran until 2006, while also running a freelance graphic design business. In 2005, when 2 Fish was started, he closed both operations.
Matt Ousdahl
Managing Partner / Director of Development
Matt is a conundrum of sorts. You'd never guess it by looking at him -- but, believe it or not, he's a closet nerd. As far back as elementary school, Matt has enjoyed fidgeting with computers and has been know to spend all-nighters "coding".
After graduating from Liberty University in 2002, Matt realized his knack for creative thinking and all things technical fit perfectly with his ingrained entrepreneurial spirit. Originally from California, he now happily calls the Brandywine Valley home along with his hottie of a wife and three beautiful daughters (Matt added the adjectives).
Outside of work and home, Matt enjoys service opportunities in his church's youth ministry, traveling, and dining out.
Wes Garnett
Director of User Experience
As part entrepreneur, part architect and part engineer, Wes helps 2 Fish clients to achieve their business objectives while balancing the clarity, simplicity and usability that people expect from good design. Working along side our marketing and design teams, Wes ensures that every 2 Fish project is directed with the purpose of engaging your customers and therefore increasing the value of the finished project.
When he's not working, you can find Wes adding to his already massive sneaker collection, cruising the streets of Wilmington on his longboard, cross-fitting at the YMCA or shopping for vintage mid-century furniture.
Mike Gracie
Director of Business Development
A Kennett Square native and recent UD grad, Michael spent the last 3 years as a production coordinator in New York City. Bringing his project management experience as well as a strong background as a promotional copywriter to the table, Michael rounds out the services offered by 2 Fish.
When he's not burning the candle at both ends you can find him at the Well cheering on the Sixers or every Wednesday at the local comic book shop (especially on "Free Comic Day").
Evan Lober
Director of Video Advertising
When not at work, Evan is an avid sports fan with a passion for ice hockey. Don't be surprised to find him cooking to the tune of Bruce Springsteen's Pandora station. His pet peeve is paper; paper mail to be exact. Described by some as a video visionary and tabbed as one of the Most Intriguing People of 2011, Evan can be described as cool, calm & collected.
Evan is a University of Delaware Lerner School of Business graduate, 2008. His focus was Sport/Business Marketing. With varied work experience in Business Development, his true passion is creative/effective communication. As the founder of Skein Media, Evan brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in digital media creation -- including video production, typography animation, and more.
Steve Roettger
Director of Marketing
Coming from both a finance and technical background (B.S. Finance & MIS from UD), Steve prides himself on creating and implementing strategies that drive client ROI. Aside from strategy, Steve has also been known to dabble on the programming side, and enjoys working with WordPress and Ruby-on-Rails.
When not at work, Steve enjoys chasing the perfect golf swing, bombing down the highest mountains on his snowboard, attending every Ravens' home game, and furiously contemplating which pair of Sperry's to buy next. You may also recognize Steve as a founder of The coIN Loft.
OUR STORY
Who knew that you could find more than just huge pumpkins at the Great Pumpkin Carve in Chadds Ford? For Dusty and Matt, a double date with their wives helped them to find an even bigger idea. After they discussed their pasts, the conversation turned to the future: where they saw themselves in the years to come, what they wanted to accomplish, etc. Shortly thereafter in 2005, the two natural entrepreneurs agreed upon a partnership and began drafting a plan for the area's first quality controlled, online business directory exclusively featuring independent businesses: the Brandywine A-List.
After discovering that many of the businesses featured on the A-List were lacking high-quality visual representation, Matt and Dusty formed 2 Fish Group. Over the last 6 years, the model and focus of the company has changed multiple times, but one thing has not... 2 Fish is, and has always been, committed to providing high quality design, development, and marketing services to businesses and organizations that are struggling to compete in today's market place.
