WHAT DID DELAWARE?
You know how it goes. You get in the car to go shopping and spend the next two hours driving around three blocks trying to find a parking spot.

But with the opening of Lolita, you can spend about 45 minutes driving to Delaware, where parking, we surmise, is a breeze.

Lolita carries all your favorite labels, so it’s great for one-stop shopping, as well as a quick jaunt out of town. If you’re in the mood for some basic tees, Daftbird has you covered. Trousers by Raven Tailored will be your go-to for work. Soft cashmere and wool cardis and sweaters by Whim will keep you warm all winter. And of course, there’s denim from Habitual to keep your butt looking good.

Because after all that sitting in the car, it needs as much help as it can get.

NO TRICKS; ALL TREATS
Sure, you can call me biased. You go right ahead.

But keep in mind, that as a fashion editor, reporter, and hardcore, discriminating shopper, I am quite capable of being objective, and simply dealing with the facts — especially when it comes to checking out a just-opened new boutique, and delivering my findings. Even if it is my BFF’s just-opened new boutique. So here are the facts that I gathered at my first visit this past Saturday, sans editorial comment:

Lolita is located in Powder Mill Square. It is stocked with silk blouses by Alvin Valley and high-waisted tweed trousers by Raven Tailored. They’ve also got jeans by Raven Denim and Habitual, and knits, dresses, wraps, tops and cardigans by LA Made, Fighting Eel, Frenzii, Nation, Tee Party, Rory Beca, Whim and Sally Tseng. They’ve got clutches by Goldenbleu. They’ve got delicate gold earrings. They’ve got chairs where you can take a load off and nibble on candy corn while your finds are being rung up. The owners, Michelle and Jill, have got enough style sense and know-how to share, and ensure you walk out of there dressed from head to toe in pieces that are totally you.

Whew. I did it. If you come with me to their grand opening party on November 15th from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., however, no promises. There will be giggling, gushing, beaming, bragging and general giddiness and carrying on. I mean, did you not hear me? My BFF just opened her own store.
